Sripati Panditharadhyula Kodandapani, better known as S. P. Kodandapani (Telugu: ఎస్. పి. కోదండపాణి) is famous Music director and Playback singer in Telugu cinema. In Pandanti Kapuram (1972) film, he voiced the memorable song "Idigo Devudu Chesina Bomma" on the Hindu philosophy of Human life.
He has introduced the famous playback singer S. P. Balasubramanyam to the Indian film world in the movie entitled Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna (1967).[1]

He spent his childhood in Guntur. He used to sing songs and poems and learned to play Harmonium. Addepalli Rama Rao gave him chance to sing in a group song in Naa Illu in 1953. He worked as Harmonium player with Susarla Dakshinamurthi. He voiced as an independent singer in 1955 film Santanam. He worked under veteran music director K. V. Mahadevan for five years.
He is the music director in the Rekha Murali and Arts of Comedian B. Padmanabham. He became music director as an independent charge for the first time in Kanna Koduku (1961), followed by Padandi Munduku (1962), Manchi Rojulochayi, Bangaru Timmaraju, Thotalo Pilla Kotalo Rani, Loguttu Perumallakeruka (1966) and many more. He composed some of the memorable songs
Kodandapani garu was one of 5 children of SP Nandyayya.
The first one was S.P.Nagabhushanam, Second, S.P.Radhakrishna, then S.P.Kodandapani and then S.P Venkannababu. They have a sister who used to stay in Manthinavari palem near Guntur and she too passed away recently.
Nagabhushanam garu was not connected to the industry...But his son S.P.Ramakrishna is a leading make up man in Chennai.
Radhakrishna garu started a film magazine in 1960's...I guess one of the first...and later produced too and started a big chemical industry.
Then Kodandapani garu...All know about his films...His son SP.Easwar is a successful Music director in Chennai and does a lot of TV work.
Then SP Venkanna Babu garu, He produced many movies with Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Rajendraprasad etc. He is survived by his wife and 3 children, all not connected to the Industry.
